Black Panther is an intermediate cultivar best suited for growers who can properly manage its dense canopy and strong vertical growth pattern. Exhibiting approximately a 2x stretch in flower, this strain demonstrates high vertical growth with moderate lateral expansion, often growing in a tight, upright structure if left untrained. The canopy becomes quite dense and benefits from early training to encourage additional leaders and improve overall plant structure. In flower, Black Panther produces 4+ nodal top colas with a tightly braided, slightly disconnected cola structure. The buds feature a medium leaf-to-calyx ratio with moderate re-stacked calyx formation, and long pistils. Black Panther is a medium feeder and drinker throughout the cycle and requires a moderate level of maintenance. While bottoming needs are relatively light, pruning and defoliation are important due to the plant's heavy canopy density. Aggressive defoliation is recommended to improve airflow and light penetration, helping maximize flower development throughout the plant. Branch strength is moderate and supports the buds well. Trichome coverage tends to be lighter than average, but the flower structure and pistil development remain visually appealing. Overall, this strain is a more intermediate strain to grow that will do well in any style of grow.
Dry Flower:
After trim and cure, Black Panther presents as a dense, green, with buds ranging from quarter-sized to half-dollar-sized. Despite lighter trichome expression during flower, the finished flower develops a nice trichome coverage, giving the buds a sandy, resin-coated texture. The smell profile is a complex combination of sour citrus, earthy undertones, sharp garlic notes, and a distinct cheese-like funk.
